We offer a platform built around an automotive-grade MCU as the main controller, using an FOC algorithm to drive high-power air conditioning compressors. This is a complete solution for automotive AC compressor control, combining our own motor control algorithm and hardware to meet a wide range of high-voltage, high-power compressor design requirements. The hardware is based on automotive-grade devices, while the software uses an enhanced FOC algorithm that improves startup time and maximum speed and delivers high accuracy at high speed. Fault detection for overvoltage, undervoltage, overcurrent and overtemperature is included, so the product offers excellent performance while remaining highly reliable.
Solution Overview
The solution uses NFVA35065L32 from ON, an intelligent power module for high-voltage loads that integrates the bootstrap diode, temperature sensor, IGBT gate drivers and IGBTs. Only a very small number of external components are needed to build a complete motor drive system, making it a highly integrated solution.
