An engine immobilizer system embeds a chip in the ignition key, with a globally unique ID programmed into the chip at the factory. The vehicle can only start once the key chip ID that has been read matches the engine ID and passes authentication by a specific security algorithm. It effectively prevents illegal hot-wire starting.
Solution Overview
This solution uses NXP's PCF799x series LF chips. With only a very small number of external components, a complete LF base station system can be built, making it a highly integrated base station system solution.
