It supports standalone printing from SD card or USB drive, motion planning, PID temperature control and file transfer over WiFi. The UI is built on a ported open-source GUI framework, making it easy to deliver an attractive, easy-to-use display interface.

Our 3D printer solution is built on the i.MX RT1052 and developed on top of the open-source Marlin firmware. Most Marlin features have been ported over, including standalone printing from SD card or USB drive, motion planning and PID temperature control. Beyond Marlin's own feature set, we have also added capabilities such as file transfer over WiFi. The UI is built on a ported open-source GUI framework, making it easy to deliver an attractive, easy-to-use display interface.

Solution Overview

The main controller is the RT1052 processor, based on the high-performance Arm® Cortex-M7 core running at up to 600MHz and integrating a rich set of peripherals including QSPI, SEMC, SDIO and Ethernet. In addition to Marlin's motor control and temperature control functions, the current solution supports printing from SD card and USB drive at the same time, as well as print control over WiFi.

  • i.MX RT family: i.MX RT1052 — based on the Arm® Cortex®-M7 processor; core frequency up to 600MHz combined with a 2D graphics accelerator (PXP) peripheral, allowing the eLCD to refresh larger displays smoothly; multiple wireless interfaces including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, BLE, ZigBee and Thread; up to 4 FlexPWM groups and 4 quadrature decoders for easy multi-motor control; built-in DC-DC converter that eliminates the need for an external PMIC; industry-leading low dynamic power consumption

  • SDK software packages provided for each peripheral
